Joseph F. Wilson

Staff Sergeant Joseph F. Wilson, 13052496 was from Philadelphia, PA. He enlisted in the US Army on January 20, 1942 in Philadephia.

He had flown with the 403rd Bomb Squadron before joining the 63rd Squadron.

After the July 11, 1943 ditching of "Black Jack", he was awarded an Air Medal Oak Leaf Cluster.

He died in Runnemede, New Jersey on September 29, 1986, just a few months prior to Rodney Pearce's discovery of the wreck of "Black Jack".
